Definition of Thesis Midterm Public Presentation
Thesis Midterm Public Presentation is to evaluate whether a dissertation has been completed before the dissertation is reviewed (the title of the thesis should be the same as that for dissertation).
Subject
Students enrolled in Doctor’s Course (including Unified Master’s and Doctor’s Course)
Presentation Period
1 semester before the submission of dissertation (Ex: For a graduate student who plans to get thesis review for dissertation during 2nd semester should make a midterm public presentation before the start of the 2nd semester).
Applying Thesis Midterm- Public Presentation
Decide thesis midterm- public presentation period through discussion with the thesis advisor and. Apply for presentation at the homepage Academic Calendar (Thesis Info – Request for thesis midterm- public presentation), print the request form and submit it to Academics & Student Affairs Team with “Thesis Midterm Public Presentation Summary.”
Evaluation Report Submission
Thesis midterm public presentation should be evaluated by 3 – 5 faculty members as “pass or fail” and submit it to Academics & Student Affairs Team immediately after reviewing public presentation report that stated the evaluation.
Evaluation Method
Thesis midterm public presentation should be evaluated as “pass” by more than 2/3 of evaluating faculty. Students who got “fail” can make another public presentation within 60 days after improving on criticized parts.
Others
Evaluation faculty member of midterm public presentation Judges and review members of dissertation do not have to necessarily match.
Those who did not make midterm public presentation cannot apply for review of dissertation.

Academic Journals Regarded As Supplementary Thesis Presentation
Domestic journals are recognized only by the Korean Research Foundation (listed candidates), and international journals are recognized only by those listed at SCOPUS, SCI, SCIE, SSCI, and AHCI(for those entering after 2010)
Acceptance Rate of Supplementary Thesis
Students enrolled in the doctoral course (including Unified Master’s and Doctor’s Course) must submit at least 100% of the academic papers to the Korean Research Foundation (candidate list) or equivalent academic journals before making dissertation review request. However, the percentage is calculated as 1 / the number of presenter × 100 and the rate is calculated excluding advisor when the advisor is included in the presenters.
※ However, this process may be omitted for departments belonging to Arts & Culture according to the standards set by the Department.
